Ominous, yet beautiful — paint, clay & photography from the Cajun prairie.
“I juxtapose vibrant colors with mysterious subjects, hoping to evoke both a sense of nostalgia and discovery — the landscapes, people, and stories that define my heritage.”
Each collection is a room with its own light. Step inside.
Raised on the Cajun prairies of Eunice, Louisiana, Shelley paints the world she comes from — and the mystery underneath it.
Working in paint, clay, and photography, she celebrates the landscapes, people, and stories that define her heritage: oyster shells and brown pelicans, fiddle players and courir de Mardi Gras, prairie sunsets and high water.
Her signature is the juxtaposition — vibrant color laid over mysterious, darker subjects, so that each piece lands somewhere ominous, yet beautiful.
Originals and prints are available, and commissions are always welcome.
